Holly Atkinson was born in Orillia, Ontario and graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.F.A. in Art Education and a Creative Arts from Sheridan College.
She worked as a graphic artist for the City of Calgary in the 80’s and lived in Paris, France for two years where she studied under MacAvoy at Atelier Lucernaire.
She returned to Toronto as a mural artist and has been with Artcast Inc., a sculpture foundry for the past twenty years as a sculptor, wax technician, mold maker and patineur.
Holly had a studio at the Glen Williams Mill for six years but now works out of her cupcake house.
Holly is a member of FIDEM, MASC, SCA and CFS. She has exhibited in Canada, USA and Europe.
This year Holly displayed her bronze reliefs at the Canada Blooms Show and recently was juried into an international exhibition in Iceland. She also is showing two bronze medallions at FIDEM in Colorado this fall.
Holly has been asked to sculpt the Laurie Pallet Patron of the Arts Award for The Mississauga Arts Council and will be teaching an Introduction to Sculpture course at the ROM this fall.
Holly sculpts in many mediums such as clay, winterstone, paper, resin and bronze. She also continues to paint.
Holly Atkinson accepts commissions and has created several awards.
